Unlock your child’s creative potential at our Future Filmmakers Camp! Designed for young enthusiasts aged 11-15, this two-week adventure provides a unique opportunity to dive into the world of filmmaking. Campers will work with pre-written scripts, focusing on shooting, acting, and basic editing, all within collaboratively assigned teams. Your kids will need a computer for editing and something to film with to participate in this experience.
What’s in Store?
- Day 1: Introduction and Team Assignments The camp kicks off with an overview of the filmmaking process and the camp’s objectives. Campers will be assigned to teams and given their scripts, starting their journey into movie creation.
- Day 2: Planning and Rehearsal Teams will plan their shooting schedule and rehearse their parts, preparing for the days of filming ahead.
- Day 3: Shooting Begins Teams start the filming process, applying their creativity and teamwork to bring their scripts to life.
- Day 4: Continue Shooting Filming continues, allowing teams to capture all necessary scenes and experiment with different filming techniques.
- Day 5 (Field Trip): Academy Museum of Motion Pictures A visit to the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures inspires and educates about the rich history of cinema.
- Day 6 to Day 8: Finish Filming and Basic Editing Teams complete their filming and start editing their footage, learning to assemble their shots into a coherent narrative.
- Day 9 (Field Trip): Universal Studios or Walt Disney Studio Tour (TBD) An exciting exploration of Universal Studios or the Walt Disney Studio Tour, providing a glimpse into professional filmmaking.
Day 10: Film Festival The camp culminates in a film festival where teams present their completed films. This celebration invites family and friends to appreciate the campers’ hard work and creativity.
